Destination Boston — Another trip to Massachusetts General Hospital via the Red Line. I found out that the Alewife station parking garage hits maximum capacity before 11:00am on a weekday. Fortunately a few spaces opened up shortly after arriving, so I was able to park. This happened one other time when going to an event in Boston. Remember that one, Deb?

Anyhow, onto the juicy stuff. I had my first encounter with a police officer regarding taking photographs in Boston, today. I stood just outside the Hospital, about to head back to the "T" stopping only to adjust my camera settings, when I heard, "sir... sir... you can't take pictures here", as an officer approached me. I told him I hadn't taken any photographs yet. He seemed satisfied with my response and went about his business. What the officer didn't realize was a few days earlier I HAD photographed the hospital (picture 4). So... nah, nah, nah nah, nah! I can only wonder what his response would have been had I been clipping my nails.

Of course, as I thought more about this, I wished I had asked his reasoning. Is there a BAN on photographing around hospitals now? While inside the hospital I had my camera hanging from my neck the entire time and I wasn't approached by anyone. So, what are they afraid of? Whatever the reason, it didn't stop Massachusetts General from making a video available here, to the entire world.

So I guess Boston is officially PARANOID now. With the Democratic National Convention only a few days away, it is to be expected.
