Ascending Mount Washington — aboard The Cog Railway. This is a trip I've wanted to take for a very long time. This Monday I finally did it, getting up at 5:30AM to make the 9:00AM train.

Not knowing what to expect, I showed up with my camera and some warm clothing. The top of Mount Washington is colder than at the base (seems obvious), even so, some folks still don't realize this. Having read the brochure, I was prepared. It took about one and a half hours to ascend the mountain with a short twenty minute stop at the summit before the forty-five minute trip down the mountain. There are plans to build a side-track which will shorten the ascent and allow for more time at the peak, but for now, it is a short visit.
