| Burning sunset — Well... it's been a long time coming. I've just switched web hosting companies. As it turns out... just in time, it seems. The "old" company was threatening to suspend the account because I couldn't resolve the hijacking of my SMTP server that some or several spammers had their hands on. The solution that the "old" web hosting company wanted to resolve it by was to throw new plans that cost lots of money at me... "you can buy our upper level tech support plan which will look into this problem for you", one customer rep told me. She also said, "otherwise you need to research all the IP addresses from our log file to find out who is doing this, then let us know so we can block them". Sure... I have all the time in the world to sift through hundreds of them one at a time. And that is just the tip of the iceberg regarding the problems I've had with the "old" web hosting company, AIT. So you've been warned. My new hosting company is IX web hosting. So far they seem like a dream to deal with. Everyone has been very helpful and pleasant. Let's hope it continues. And the plan is half the cost of my previous plan, with quite a lot more to offer. Over the next couple of days these sites; seventwentythree.com, yasse.org, and dujour.us, may be unreachable until the new nameservers have taken effect at the new address. Of course, if you're getting this page now, then you have sucessfully reached the new server. Thanks for your patience. I also wanted to mention that I am not receiving email during this transition due to repointing the nameservers. I hope to have my email back by Monday or Tuesday (Sept. 20-21). |
